Great food! The seafood was fresh. The dishes might seem simple but they packed flavors. The service was soooo lovely. They were all very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Highly recommend to book a reservation in advance.

An absolutely amazing experience and deservedly one of the best restaurants in Ahlbeck. If you love fish and authentic cuisine from the Baltic Sea coast I definitely recommend it. We visited the restaurant as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. The kids had a simple fish fillet with potatoes, my wife had a similar fish and I had smoked fish with onions and roasted potatoes. For all of us we ordered Shrimp on garlic yet. You place your order inside the restaurant and then you get the information that your meal is ready. The restaurant offers a nice seating especially outside and literally right on the beach. I rate the quality of the food as 10 out of 10. After this really an experience and I have to recommend to anyone who wants to visit a quality restaurant in this city. The tradition since 1830 is noticeable here and no wonder this is a place that people visit regularly. We definitely want to go back again.

Uwe’s has two places in a close proximity of one another, the one is a a’la carte restaurant and a self service dining area and the second one is more of a take-away place with an option to grab a table upon availability. Both cooperate closely and serve mostly the same dishes with a small difference and slightly more fancy plating in the restaurant part. We’ve visited both places twice as the rich variety of fish dishes was really appealing to us and they’ve got their own fish smokehouse! During these four visits we’ve had most of the yummy fish and seafood incl. fried pike perch, smoked mackerel, prawns in garlic beer, smoked Baltic Sea salmon, fried cold herring in vinegar, matjes herring tartare, fish and chips, smoked halibut, cold smoked salmon sandwich, fried haddock and finally both smoked and a traditional fish soup. Every single dish was delicious with the prawns and pike perch being the top notch, tender and mouthwatering! The service at the take-away place was more attending and customer friendly; we’ve had some small communication issues at the restaurant and the staff there was quite stressed and abrupt at times. Important to note for these two places and basically all restaurants in Ahlbeck: you must speak German or at least try to as the staff either doesn’t or does not want to speak any other language.

Totally worth it! The fish is fresh and tastes really good, the waiters are super friendly and the service is fast.
